Tip of the hat to Argentina for joining the crowd that Portugal and Iceland also joined this year, despite anything the Catholic Church may have said/done to prevent it.

I saw the results of a... spectacular... accident yesterday while going home. I'm at a loss for words to describe it, but in context, the phrase "How did they manage to wedge that car in there?" makes sense. I have no idea whether there were casualties or not, but the state of the roof and windshield highly suggests someone was at least injured.

So them CAPSAT soldiers proudly paraded on the Champs Élysées for the Bastille Day parade in Paris. And when asked whether that was appropriate or not, they dared compare themselves to the firefighters of NYC after 9/11. Excuse me? The firefighters were known for having saved thousands of lives, losing hundreds of their friends in the process. They were there to be celebrated as heroes. What did the CAPSAT do? Oust a democratically elected government, install an unelected, highly incompetent and greedy government in its stead, utterly ruining the country in the process. Or is that exactly why France invited them? Because they successfully prevented Madagascar's rise from the status of French colony to that of emergent country?

Mom's computer ran into problems yesterday. Namely, her power unit went down in a puff of smoke. She was pretty annoyed at having to replace it. More expenses, wee...

And speaking of Mom, her birthday's tomorrow. And I completely forgot to prepare anything for a gift. And Mom is the one of us who gets more vocal/moody about that. Argh.
